Family Ministry

Partnering with parents to raise children for a lifetime of faith in Jesus.

Due to COVID-19, all in-person Family Ministry classes are currently suspended.

Family Ministry partners with both the church and its families to teach and model the gospel to our children. We offer programs for children that provide gospel-centered teaching, safe programming, and a nurturing environment to facilitate their participation in Sunday worship and Sunday School programs. Safety and the well-being of our children are important to us and we adhere to McLean Presbyterian Church’s Child Abuse Prevention Policy (CAPP).

Program Registration

If you're new or visiting, please fill out a registration form available at the Welcoming Table.
We'll provide you with a security tag and nametag for your child and receive any medical or allergy information from you. Please note that all children participating in Family Ministry programs must be registered.

Nursery (Infant - 1 Year)

Infants and young walkers are cared for by caregivers and member volunteers during a time of free play, learning, and exploration. Diapers are changed with parental consent and a nut-free snack is provided.

Toddlers (2 Years - 3 Years)

Toddlers are engaged by instructors through a structured class with the flexibility of free play in between learning. We follow a simple curriculum that teaches children about God’s love and who He is. Children learn through song, prayer, a lesson, and an activity that reinforces the lesson.

Available 2nd Service only

Pre-School (4 Years - 5 Years)

Pre-School follows the Teach Me to Worship curriculum studying the elements of worship in preparation for family worship times and/or Children's Chapel. Children discover who they are in Christ and what is required of them through worship through the lesson and activities.

Available 2nd Service only

Children's Chapel (Elementary)

Children’s Chapel is a means to teach our children how to participate in Sunday Worship so that worshiping together with their families would become a normal habit. Children mimic the elements of Sunday Worship through songs, prayer, and offering.
